Living in a little village surrounded by green fields in rural India was Bindu, an obedient Indian bahu (daughter-in-law). Bindu was left alone in their family house by her husband Atul, who was employed in a distant city. But rather than giving in to being alone, Bindu found comfort and meaning in taking care of her father-in-law, Naresh.
Elderly and wise beyond his years, Naresh's eyes gleamed with historical tales. Bindu took it upon herself to fill their home with love and affection as the days went by. She made sure the house was filled with laughter, got up before the dawn, and cooked Naresh's favorite foods.
Their friendship developed into something special that went beyond the customs of being a father-in-law and a daughter-in-law. In addition to attending to Naresh's bodily needs, Bindu patiently listened to him and took in his knowledge. She became aware of his life's events, the difficulties he encounter, and the victories that helped to mold him.
